For optimal performance, it is highly recommended to use a gaming PC. Using a slower PC may result in incorrect graphics display, significant lag, and in some cases, the simulator may fail to load entirely.

  2. Extract (unzip) the zip folder.
  3. Open the unzipped folder.
  4. Copy the folder called vosk-model-small-en-us-0.15 and paste it into your documents folder. This folder is used with the speech recognizer and must be in your documents folder for speech recognition to work.
  5. Run (double click) ControlTowerSim. (See Note below)
  6. Install the program with the Setup Wizard.
  7. Use the shortcut that was created to start the simulator.
  8. In the simulator, press the O key to open the options screen.  Set desired screen resolution and other performance options.
  9. Return to simulator by pressing the Return button.
  10. Press the R key to display the quick reference.
  11. Refer to TowerSim.com for the documentation.

Note

You might see a pop-up window from Windows Defender SmartScreen stating, “Windows protected your PC.” If you see this message, simply click on “More info.” This will reveal the publisher’s name, Monte Thompson, confirming that the file is certified and safe.

Later, during installation, you might see another prompt asking, “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” If you click “Show more details” or “Show information about the publisher’s certificate,” you’ll again see confirmation that Monte Thompson is a verified publisher.

More Information

The Publisher of this software is Monte Thompson who has been verified by Sectigo Public Code Signing CA R36 on 19-Dec-2020 for the purpose of code signing. The publisher is trustworth and this software is certified as safe to download.

When you download and install new applications, especially those not widely recognized or distributed through major app stores, Windows Defender SmartScreen may display warnings. This is a normal part of the security process. For newer or less common applications, it takes time for Windows to recognize and build trust with the publisher.

When you see these messages for new apps from smaller companies or independent developers, it’s just Windows being cautious. As long as you trust the source and have verified the publisher, you can proceed confidently.
